IDSA Design Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was established by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) in 2001. Over the years, we've been dedicated to nurturing emerging design talent and fostering inclusivity in the field of industrial design. Scholarships
Our core program has always been our scholarships, and we're proud to have distributed over $120,000 in tuition assistance over the last 20+ years.
Your support directly contributes to the educational journey of aspiring designers, helping them achieve their dreams.
Expanding Access to Design Education
Ensuring that everyone, regardless of background, has access to design education is a top priority.
Our Event Access program, launched in 2020, offers complimentary access to industry events for underrepresented individuals in industrial design, fostering professional development and networking opportunities.
Preparing Future Designers
Our goal is to prepare students for their professional careers as industrial designers. We offer financial support, educational resources, and industry exposure to help them succeed in the competitive design world.

2023 Highlights
Event Access
Now in its third year, and as part of our diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, the Event Access program continues to build momentum by offering underrepresented and economically disadvantaged individuals complimentary access to IDSA events.
In 2023, over 40 individuals received complimentary registration to conferences hosted by IDSA, including the International Design Conference and Deep Dives: Women in Design, Design Research, and Design Entrepreneurship.
Scholarships
IDSA Design Foundation has awarded two $5,000 scholarships in 2023. These scholarships help students at the earliest stages of their design careers by providing much needed financial support.
These scholarships are made possible through the generosity of our community, and they represent just a glimpse of the impact we can create together.
